Split-rail fence - A split-rail fence or log fence is a type of fence contructed out of timber logs, usually split lengthwise into "rails" and typically used for agricultural or decorative fencing. Such fences require much more timber than other types of fences, and so are not common in areas where wood is scarce or expensive.

Rock fence - A rock fence is a type of fence contructed out of stones without any mortar to bind them together (called dry stone masonry). Rock fences have historically been used for agricultural fencing, though they have recently gained popularity for decorative fencing.

Gate - A gate is a point of entry to a space enclosed by walls, or an opening in a fence. Gates may prevent entry, or they may be merely decorative.
